Women’s Wear Daily's Arthur Zaczkiewicz reported on strong global online sales for apparel and footwear retailers during Cyber Weekend. DynamicAction provided exclusive data on apparel and footwear retail orders, revenue, inventory and promotions.
Sarah Engel, DynamicAction's senior vice president of global marketing, described the results as robust with total global online revenue showing a 13% gain for the weekend versus the same period last year.
Regarding “global inventory not sold,” for apparel and footwear retailers, Engel said it was down about 17% for Cyber Weekend and 16% on Cyber Monday. And “units per order” were up about 3% for Cyber Weekend and up 9% for Cyber Monday. In regard to online “marketing cost,” Engel said it was up year-over-year by 113% for the weekend, and 149% for Cyber Monday.
